Mindful Meditation

Mindful meditation or as some call it Mindfulness, is not just a religious or spiritual activity. Some people tend to see it as a Buddhist activity to attain enlightenment.
Mindful meditation teaches you to live in the present and appreciate the present more. It has said to have many health benefits – some hospitals use it to deal with anxiety and depressive disorders, and emotional distress. At least 6 hospitals in Singapore employ Mindul Meditation.
Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn, a Professor of Pshchology from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in USA, even employs Mindful Meditation on patients with chronic pain (research and figures show it works!) in an well-known 8-weeks Mindfulness-Based-Stress-Reduce (MBSR) programme. The MBSR programme is in use in hospitals worldwide.

Famous Vietnamess Zen monk Thict Nhat Hanh and his Plum Village, is well known to promote Mindful meditation and Mindful Living.

And most importantly, in the modern stressful working and living environment, we would be glad to know that Mindful Meditation is not just for the sick – people with no ailments can also do it to their own benefits!
